School may be just around the corner, but August is all about Quilt Minnesota, the state wide shop hop, going on from August 3rd – 19th. Quilted Treasures is giving away awesome prizes, and we hope you are planning a visit to our shop during the hop. Our two QT exclusive prizes include the “Minnesota Fun Bucket” which will be given away on August 11th at 2 p.m. This bucket includes such prized items as: Quilt Minnesota 2007 exclusive Moda Fabric, wild rice, s’more ingredients, SA gas card, fishing rod, (the coveted) Paul Bunyan and Babe salt and pepper shakers, and many more goodies. Karen Jongeward from CC Cookie Company will join us that day and share tasty samples of her delicious cookies, and there will be many door prize giveaways too. Wait, there’s more! On Sunday, August 19th, we will be giving away a Pfaff sewing machine donated by Associated Sewing! All you need to do to qualify is visit our shop during the state hop and show us your passport. But, for every $25 you spend at QT in July, you will receive an additional entry. Just turn in your entries during the hop and don’t forget to hop across the state, visiting 8 shops in each of 5 sections to complete the hop and qualify for the many other great prizes too! Quilt Basics: Perfect for beginners and for quilters with just a little experience, our Quilt Basics class covers many common methods used in quilting. Included in this seven part class is: rotary cutting, accurate machine piecing, strip piecing, triangle unit methods, paper piecing, log cabin piecing, border application, layering, machine quilting and binding. A common response from quilters completing this class is that they received superior instruction, had fun, and that they can approach their next quilt project with confidence.
